Maison · LX Atelier

The Maison.

A four-generation atelier · contemporary Eastern aesthetic.

Heritage

Who we are.

LX Atelier was founded in 1908 by the Lu family in Shengze, Suzhou. Across four generations and thirty masters, we still weave by hand on Song-brocade looms and finish with Suzhou's two-faced embroidery — for clients across the globe.

We hold a single belief: true luxury is the gift of time, of care, and of an Eastern grace that cannot be reproduced.

Beliefs

Our Beliefs.

I

Heritage Carried

We hold a hundred years of family practice — and a thousand years of Suzhou silk — quietly forward.

II

Craft Above All

Each piece passes thirty-six steps in the hands of masters with ten or more years at the loom.

III

Client First

Trusted privately by collectors, royal households and heads of state.

IV

Quietly Sustainable

Natural mulberry silk, plant dyes, plastic-free packaging — out of respect for the source.

A Century

A century, in fragments.

1908

The First Loom

Lu Yuanqing opens a small loom on Silk Lane, Shengze. The first Song-brocade qipao leaves the workshop within the year.

1956

Master Embroiderers

Twelve master embroiderers from the Suzhou Embroidery Institute begin a lasting collaboration with the maison.

1998

Reserve Tea Gardens

A long partnership begins with smallholder gardens on Dongshan and Lion-Peak — still ours today.

2018

Open to the World

First commissions to Paris, Milan, New York, Geneva. The atelier today receives clients in twelve countries.

The silk slips through the fingers like spring water — a single piece speaks more than a thousand words. The most quietly Eastern couture I have ever worn.
